I was nervous about leaving the girls, but me and my husband went away for 3 nights to Texas. He was shooting a wedding in Galveston, so we got to see that, Houston, Dallas, and everywhere inbetween. It was nice to drive so we had a lot of time to talk and laugh.
It was so nice to spend time with him minus the stresses of hungry crying or tired babies. We actually got to talk about something other than when the babies ate last or slept last.
We had a great time and got to visit our favorite stores. IKEA :)
We went to the one in Houston, and then to the Dallas one. Although I was dissapointed because they don't carry the same things :( but we got stuff from both that we needed so it evened out.
We always come home from IKEA with a car load of items. This trip was filled with new furniture for my dance studio. We've been surviving with some outdoor wicker furniture for about 4 years now... and lets just say kids like wicker. My chairs have been picked to death :) But I am surprised they lasted THIS long!
I was so nervous about how bad I was going to miss the girls, but I actually said to Bryan that I felt like a bad parent because I really wasn't missing them as much as I thought I would. Bryan told me, "It's ok, your just enjoying yourself!" That made me feel better.
We were excited to come home and see them though. We got a text that day of this picture!
This weekend we spent time swimming in nana and papas pool. The girls love to swim!
And we also spent our first 4th of July as our own little family. (I say little because we are not outnumbered yet!) We had BEAUTIFUL weather. We walked to the Jenks riverwalk from our house. We walked through the sprinkles :) But it was just enough to cool down the temps, and it was just perfect!
The girls LOVED the fireworks. They just stared at them the whole time. I was holding Emma behind Bryan while he was laying on the blanket, Emma grabbed on to his hair TIGHT. She was like "DAD, YOU'VE GOT TO SEE THIS! I'VE NEVER SEEN ANYTHING LIKE THIS IN MY LIFE!"
On the actual 4th, we went to a friends neighborhood who was allowed to set off the HUGE fireworks right in front of their house. It was SO LOUD, but the babies sat outside and watched them till they couldn't any longer. They fell asleep on the laps of those who were holding them. I don't know how they could sleep through that!
So all in all, I had a GREAT weekend! But now back to reality! Woke up, fed both babies, played with both babies, bathed both babies, and trying to put them back down for a nap. Whew... I'm ready for a nap. But I want to try to squeeze in a pilates video :)
